Tulsi (Ocimum santum) is also known as holy basil. It is antibacterial, expectorant, antispasmodic, nerving, digestive and laxative. Tulsi is used in condition of cough, indigestion, respiratory tract infections and digestive problems.
Here is recipe and benefits of tulsi tea.
Ingredients:
- 20 -25 fresh tulsi leaves
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Honey as per taste
Process:
- Take basil leaves and wash to clear dirt and using mortar and pestle crush it.
- Add crushed basil leaves in 2 cups of boiling water.
- Boil for 10-15 minutes.
- Strain and add the lemon juice and honey.
Drink lukewarm.
When preparing tulsi tea for cold and cough you can also add grated ginger and crushed black pepper along with tulsi leaves.
