Top Ayurvedic Medicines To Treat Anemia

Anemia is a health condition in which human blood has lower RED Blood cells or RBC has lower haemoglobin. RBC contains haemoglobin which is iron rich protein and it gives blood red color. Haemoglobin is protein which carries oxygen from lungs to other body parts.

Anemia is most common health problem all over world If anyone is suffering from anemia that means he is not getting enough oxygen-rich blood. As a result, he/she may feel tired or weak. Other symptoms of anemia is such as shortness of breath, dizziness, or headaches. Severe and long-lasting anemia can damage heart, brain, and other organs in the body. Very severe anemia may even cause death.

Causes of Anemia

There are many reasons to develop anemia and all age group people can get anemia while small children and women are at higher risk for developing anemia. Here are some common cause to develop anemia.

Treatment Of Anemia

Mild and short term anemia can be treated with healthy iron rich diet and vitamin C rich diet. but in other cases it’s treatment may need iron supplements and other medications. In Indian Ayurvedic medicines system there are many medicines to treat various type of anemia. Most of the Ayurvedic medicines are herbal and safe in use. In the case of severe anemia one should consult a doctor then do the treatment.

List of Ayurvedic Medicines for Anemia

1- Ayurveda: Lohasava Syrup for Iron Deficiency: It is most common tonic for treating iron deficiency. It is formulated with Calx of Iron(Loh Bhasma) and many herbs. Lohasava syrup is also effective in other illness like Jaundice, Liver Affections, Cardiac Lesions, Dropsy And Fever and many more. For adults 1-2 spoon after the meal twice a day with an equal quantity of water. you can take with your diet as supplement.

2- Limiron Granules For Anemia: It is enriched with Iron and micro-nutrients for generating rich red blood, body resistance & muscular strength. Promotes vitality & strength, Improves digestic powers, overcomes debility. Dosage Children:1/2 teaspoonful twice daily. Adults:1 teaspoonful twice daily.

3- Efiplus Capsule for Anemia: It is a rich natural source of iron in the form of purified kaseesa. Kasis Bhasma is prepared from Kasisa which is mineral of iron. Kasis is ferrous sulphate (FeSO 4 7H2o) and is green in color. Take one capsule twice daily or as directed by the Physician.

4- Lauh Bhasma is haematinic and restorative. Also known as: loha bhasma, lauha bhasma. It is used to treat anemia and other the liver related problems. You can take this medicine 125 mg to 150 mg with honey twice a day.

5- Navayas lauh is herbomineral Ayurvedic medicine which is used for treating anemia, weakness, etc. It is prepared from Lauh Bhasma (Calcined iron) with herbs such as amla, hard, baheda, pipali, vidhang, etc. You can take 250-500 mg with honey twice a day or as directed by a physician.

6- Shothari Lauh Benefits, Ingredients, Dosage: This medicine improves haemoglobin level by boosting digestion, and reduces kapha and excess fluid accumulation. Shothari lah contains Trikatu, Jawakhar and Lauha bhasma. The combination of ingredients in this formulation improves overall health and reduces the excess fluid. The recommended dosage of Shothari Lauh is 250-650 mg, twice a day.

7- Kasis Bhasma is prepared from Kasisa which is mineral of iron. Kasis is ferrous sulphate (FeSO 4 7H2o) and is green in color. It is very good to treat anemia. Take 120 mg to 360 mg with honey or water twice a day.
