Home remedies for treating digestive problems

Digestive disorders are very common. Each one of us suffers from this time to time. For treating such problems it is better to avoid drug dependency as in long run this causes harmful effect on our body. Unless the problem is chronic or serious we can depend on remedies from natural herbs or spices available at our home.
Here are few remedies that can be done at home to treat various digestive disorders. These remedies are using natural herbal products such as cumin, ginger, tulsi and lemon which are easily available in every kitchen and are will known for positive effect on digestive system.

  • Ginger

    Ginger (Zingiber officinale) or adrak is very good in improving digestion. It is a natural digestive and useful in giving relief in abdominal gas, nausea, acidity.
    For curing indigestion extract juice of fresh ginger and mix this juice with lemon juice and sendha namak and take this after the meal. You may store ginger pieces in lemon juice, salt and can consume after every meal to prevent indigestion.
    Ginger is also useful in curing nausea. For treating nausea take ginger powder or sonth with water twice a day.
    For treating vomiting mix ginger juice and onion juice in equal amount and take one teaspoonful.

  • Cumin seeds

    Cumin seeds (Cuminum cyminum) or jeera is readily available in our kitchen. It is very good remedy for treating digestive disorders. Cumin seeds help in activating enzymes secretion from pancreas which is needed for proper digestion.
    For treating abdominal pain take cumin powder mixed with honey or you may take jeera powder, methi powder mixed in glass of water. 
    For diarrhea roast cumin seeds and grind to make powder. Add this in curd and eat few times a day.
    For treating indigestion take cumin seed powder mixed in jaggery.
    For vomiting take jeera powder mixed in lemon juice.

  • Tulsi or Basil leaves

    Basil leaves are antibacterial and when taken regularly helps to give relief in digestive problems and intestinal parasites.
    For improving digestive strength extract tulsi leaves juice and take empty stomach in the morning. This also helps in deworming.

  • Lemon

    Lemon is helpful in improving digestion and removing toxins from the body. Each morning squeeze fresh lemon in lukewarm glass of water. Add honey and drink. Do this regularly for a few months. This is also helpful in shedding extra kilos from the body.
