Hazrul Yahud bhasma is a preparation of stone. Hazrul Yahud is a grey color round stone with Ber (Indian plum) like appearance. It is also known by some other names such as Pattar Ber, Sang Yahud. In Unani system of medicine, this stone is used for expulsion of stones from the body due to its litholytic (dissolves calculi) and diuretic (promotes urine production) action. Mainly this is used in Unani medicine. But due to its stone dissolving abilities, Hazrul is included in Ayurvedic medicines.

Overview

For preparing Hazrul Yahud Bhasma first purification of stone is done. This is done by heating the stone in fire for a few times and then cooling in Kulthi Kwath. This purified Sang Yahud is then triturated and treated with Mooli swaras and given tablet form. This is again heated in special apparatus and on cooling, grinded to get powder or Hazrul Yahud Bhasma.
