Dadimashtaka choornam is poly-herbal Ayurvedic medicine.  This medicine is indicated in treatment of digestive system disorders such as diarrhoea, impaired digestion etc. This powder is prepared from pericarp of pomegranate, anar chilka or Dadima (in Sanskrit) with other medicinal herbs. Pomegranate peel has antibacterial properties and useful in stopping loose motions.

Ingredients of dadimashtaka Churna

Pericarp of punica granatum (Pomegranate peel), mesua ferrea (nagakesara), carum roxburghianum (ajamoda), piper longum (pippali), zingiber officinale (shunti), cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum), piper cubeba (kabab chini), sugar etc.

Uses of dadimashtaka Churna

  • Promotes digestion
  • Improves appetite
  • Controls loose motion and grahani
  • Useful in Sprue syndrome and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
  • Malabsorption syndrome, Indigestion

Dosage of dadimashtaka Churna

3-5 gm of churna twice or thrice a day with buttermilk or honey one hour before meal or as directed by physician.
