Amritadi Churna Health benefits, Uses, Ingredients and Side Effects

Amrutadi Churna is classical Ayurvedic medicine. This herbal medicine is useful in the treatment of arthritis, rheumatism and kidney stone. This medicine is very good for pre-diabetic and type-1 diabetes people.

Ingredients of Amritadi churna

Amritadi churna is prepared from amrita (giloy), sunthi, gokhshru, Gorakhmundi and Varun chhal.

Know the ingredients

1- Giloy (Tinospora cordifolia), is a climbing deciduous shrub belonging to the family Menispermaceae, found throughout India. It is one of the most important medicinal plant and the forms an important drug of the Ayurvedic system of Medicine. It is a Rasayana herb and used to treat many diseases such as general debility, fever, diabetes, dyspepsia, urinary infections, jaundice and skin diseases. It has adaptogen, immunostimulant, antioxidant, anticancer and antidiabetic properties.

2- Shunthi (Synonyms: Zingiber officinale, Sukku, Chukku, Aushadha, Muhaushadha, Nagara, Vishva, Vishvabheshaja, Shringavera, Vishva) is dry ginger powder. It is hot in potency and increases Pitta and decreases Kapha. It is a digestive stimulant. Ginger is also used to give relief in seasickness and morning sickness.

3- Gokhshru (Tribulus terrestris) is used to treat various clinical conditions like sexual weakness in men, kidney dysfunction, urine problem, dysuria, Leucorrhoea (Shveta Pradar), etc. It helps in breaking and elimination of the kidney stone from the body. It also prevents recurrent stone formation.

4- Gorakhmundi (Sphaeranthus indicus): In Ayurveda, the whole herb is used in insanity, tuberculous glands, indigestion, bronchitis, spleen diseases, anemia, pain in the uterus and vagina, piles, asthma, leukoderma, dysentery, vomiting, urinary discharges, pain in the rectum, looseness of the breasts, hemicrania.

5- Varun Bark (Crataeva nurvala) : In Ayurveda, it’s bark is recommended for blood purification, urinary-bladder problems, erysipelas, lymphadenopathy, BPH (Enlarged Prostate) and calculi. Varun bark has appetizer, diuretic and litholytic activities. The tree is also used in the treatment of alopecia, low appetite, prostate enlargement, constipation, painful urination, and UTI.

The Dosage of Amritadi churna

1/2 – 1 teaspoonful with lukewarm water twice or thrice a day.
