Panchamrut Loha Guggul/Panchamrit lauha Guggulu is herbomineral Ayurvedic medicine. It is prepared From Parad, Gandhak, Bhasma (Rajat, Abhrak, Swarna Makshik, and Lauha) and Guggulu. For preparing this medicine, ingredients are taken in amount as mentioned in Ayurvedic treatise. First Kajjali is prepared from parad and gandhak. Guggulu is pounded with katu taila. When it softens, kajjali and other bhasma are added. This is processed and pills of size 3 ratti are rolled. Key Ingredients of Panchamrit loh Guggulu
Panchamrita Lauha Guggulu Vati is a brown spherical pill preparation made with the ingredients in the formulation composition given below with Guggulu as the basic ingredient.
1. Rasa (Shuddha Parada) Mercury 48 g
2. Gandhaka (Shuddha) Sulphur 48 g
3. Rajata Bhasma Calcined Rajata 48 g
4. Abhraka Bhasma Calcined Abhraka 48 g
5. Makshika Bhasma Calcined Makshika 48 g
6. Lauha Bhasma Calcined Lauha 96 g
7. Guggulu (Shuddha) Commiphora wightii O.R. 336 g
8. Katu Taila Brassica campestris Sd. oil Q. S.
Method of preparation
Take all the ingredients of the pharmacopoeial quality.
Weigh separately the ingredients numbered 2 to 6 of the formulation composition separately and pass through sieve numbered 85 in the required quantities and mix. Prepare Kajjali from Shuddha Parada and Shuddha Gandhak. Crush weighed quantity of Shuddha Guggulu, add fine powder of other mixed ingredients to it and pound well. Add Katu Taila to an extent required to facilitate the pounding and continue pounding till a semisolid uniformly mixed mass of suitable plasticity is obtained.
Expel the mass through Vati machine fitted with a suitable die and cut the Vatis to a desired weight. Roll the Vatis on flat surface to round them by circular motion of palm covered with a glove and smeared with Katu Taila or use suitable mechanical device. Dry the rounded Vatis in a tray-dryer at a temperature not exceeding 600 for 10 to 12 h.
Pack it in a tightly closed container to protect from light and moisture.

Uses of Panchamrut Loha Guggul
This medicine is a Rasayana that gives strength to nerves. It is indicated in the treatment of cervical spondylitis, neuromuscular conditions, Gridhrasi (Sciatica), pain in waist and knees, and other Vata-vyadhi (diseases caused by aggravated Vata dosha).
It is useful in nerve debility, headaches, insomnia, low appetite, jaundice, etc. It detoxifies the body and gives strength.
