Know the some best herbs and Ayurvedic medicines to treat Influenza. It is a viral infection that attracts respiratory system and affects mainly the nose, throat, bronchi and, occasionally, lungs. Influenza usually lasts for a week, and common symptoms are sudden high fever, aching of muscles, headache and non-productive cough, sore throat. 1) Tulsi leaves has expectorant properties. In cold cough, with 3 ml of ginger juice and 3 ml of tulsi leaves juice helps to give relief in cold and cough. Tulsi leaves juice with honey is also an effective remedy.

Dosage and administration 5-20 ml leaves juice orally with honey and water for 3-5 days.

2) Laxmi Vilas Ras (Nardiya) is a Rasayan and useful in treatment of wide variety of diseases such as skin diseases, all types of Prameha, wounds, piles, fistula, filaria, all type of Kapha rog, diseases of brain, mouth, and sexual disorders.

Dosage and administration250 mg, 1-2 tablets twice/thrice a day for 3-7 days or as directed by physician.

3) Mahalaxmi Vilas Ras is indicated in tonsillitis, sinusitis, swelling of lymph nodes and throat disorders. When chronic condition, weakens the patient it is given with Mandura. Intake of this medicine gives cures all type of pain and debility.

Dosage and administration250 mg, 1-2 tablets twice/thrice a day for 3-7 days or as directed by physician.

4) Mrityunjaya Rasa is used in the treatment of all types of fever and viral infections. This medicine contains heavy metal ingredients, hence should only be taken under strict medical supervision.

Dosage and administration1 tablets twice/thrice a day for 1-3 days or as directed by physician.

5) Kaphaketu Ras is classical medicine indicated in such Kapha Roga. It is used to treat Kasa (Cough), chronic cough, Shvasa (Dyspnoea/Asthma), Gala Roga (Diseases of throat), Difficulty in swallowing, Fever due to phlegm.

Dosage and administration1 tablets twice/thrice a day for 1-3 days or as directed by physician.
