Agnisandipan Ras for upset stomach

Agnisandeepan Ras is an Ayurvedic medicine useful in treating digestion related problems. It stimulates Agni or digestive fire. It is indicated in digestive weakness, bloating, heaviness after having excess meal, hyperacidity, gulma, stomach ache, etc.

It is a Ras Aushadhi. Mercury is known as Rasa in Ayurveda and medicines that are prepared using purified mercury, purified Sulphur, bhasma, etc. are named as Ras aushadhi (Mercurial Preparations).

Para, Parad, Rasa or mercury is a heavy metal that remains liquid at room temperature. It is used in Ayurveda only after proper detoxification as per classical Ayurvedic texts. Parad is ingredient of numerous medicines due to its powerful medicinal properties. It balances Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Ras aushadhi (Parad containing medicine) are fast acting. They nourishes the whole body and has Tonic, aphrodisiac, rejuvenative, anti-aging, wound-healer, and antimicrobial effect. The combination of mercury with other medicinal ingredients enhances the therapeutic efficacy of the medicine due to Yogvahi property of parad.

Ingredients of Agnisandipan Ras

Shudh (purified) Parad 12 grams and Shudh Gandhak 12 grams.

12 grams each Pippali, Pippalimool, Chavya, Chitrak-mool, Chitrak-Twak, Shunthi, Maricha/Black pepper, Panch-Lavan/five salts (Saindhav Lavan, Samudra Lavan, Beed Lavan, Saurvichal Lavan, Lavan 12 grams each), Yav-Kshaar, Sajji-Kshaar, Shudh Tankan, Safed Jeerak, Krishna-Jeerak, ajwain, Vacha, Saunf, Shudh Hingu, Jaatiphal, Kutki, Jatipatra Javitri, Dalchini, Tejpatta, Ela, Lavang, Haritaki Phal, Amlika Kshaar, Apamarg Kshaar, Shudh Vatsanabh, Loh Bhasma, Vang Bhasma, Abrakh Bhasma;Amlavetas 24 grams and Shankh Bhasma 48 grams;

Processed in Bhavana-Dravya: juice of Panchkol, Chitrak Swaras and Apamarg Swaras, Jambiri Nimbu juice.

Method of Preparation

First Parad and Gandhak are combined to form Kajjali.

Pippali, Pippalimool, Chavya, Chitrak-mool, Chitrak-Twak, Shunthi, Maricha/Black pepper, Panch-Lavan/five salts (Saindhav Lavan, Samudra Lavan, Beed Lavan, Saurvichal Lavan, Lavan 12 grams each), Yav-Kshaar, Sajji-Kshaar, Shudh Tankan, Safed Jeerak, Krishna-Jeerak, ajwain, Vacha, Saunf, Shudh Hingu, Jaatiphal, Kutki, Jatipatra Javitri, Dalchini, Tejpatta, Ela, Lavang, Haritaki Phal, Amlika Kshaar, Apamarg Kshaar, Shudh Vatsanabh, Loh Bhasma, Vang Bhasma, Abrakh Bhasma;Amlavetas and Shankh Bhasma is all pounded together and mixed with Kajjali to form a uniform blend.

The mixture is then processed in following Bhavana-Dravya Panchkol plants, Chitrak Swaras and Apamarg Swaras. The mixture is given 3 Bhavana (treatment) each with the Bhavana-Dravya. On drying the mixture is given a final 21 Bhavana with Jambeer Swaras. It is rolled into tablets each measuring 250 mg. This formulation is called Agnisandeepan Ras. On drying Agnisandipan Ras.

  2. Amla Pitta (hyperacidity and gastritis)
  3. Ajeerna (indigestion)
  4. Agnimandya (digestive weakness)
  5. Impaired digestion
  6. Bloating

The Dosage of Agnisandipan Ras

1-2 tablets twice a day with water or as directed by a physician. In hyperacidity, it is given in a dose of 1 tablet, thrice a day with warm water. For chronic hyperacidity, it is given with Ajwain Ark or Saunf Arka.
