In my village people use to make pakoda with chana daal because it is tastier than made using besan. But process of making pakodas using chana daal is bit different and it requires more oil to fry(only drawback).
Here is recipe for pakoda using chana daal.
- Chana daal 250 gm.(Depends upon serving)
- Onion 2
- Ginger paste 1 tbl spoon
- Garlic paste 1 tbl spoon
- Jeera(Cumin) powder 1 tbl spoon
- Turmeric powder 1 tea spoon
- Red chili powder 1 tea spoon(Depend on taste).
- Garam Masala 1/2 tbl spoon.
- Green chili 2-3.
- Spinach (Palak) 100 gm.
- Green onion leaves 2-3.
- Salt to taste.
- Mustard oil to deep fry.
Wash daal and soak it for 4-5 hrs(It will be better to soak for longer time). Make fine paste of daal using grinder. Cut onion, green chili, spinach and green onion leaves into small pieces. Add ginger garlic paste, jeera powder, chili powder, haldi powder and garam masala in daal paste and mix well. Now add all vegetables into this mix and mix them very well. Finally add salt and you pakoda mixture is ready to fry.
For better result fry pakodas in mustard oil and serve it with chutey and msdala tea.
