Recipe: Paneer (Cottage Cheese) Bhurji


Paneer (cottage cheese) is very common dairy product in north India. There are lot of different recipes for making paneer dishes. Today i am writing here spicy paneer bhurji recipe.

Ingredients for paneer bhurji

-Paneer 200 gm

-Capsicum (Shimla mirch)1 medium size

-Red tomato 1medium size

-Onion 1 small medium size

-Pealed Garlic cloves 4-5

-Cumin seeds 1/2 table spoon

-Green chili 1-2

-Coriander powder 1 spoon

-Haldi (Turmeric) powder 1/2 table spoon

-Garam Masala powder 1 small spoon

-Salt to taste

-Mustard oil 3-4 spoon


-Wash and cut capsicum, tomato and paneer in small pieces and keep aside.

-Now chop onion, garlic cloves and green chilies .

-Heat mustard oil in a frying pan and add cumin seeds for crackle and add chopped onion, garlic and chili and cook on medium flame till onion gets brown.

-Now add paneer, capsicum and tomato. Add salt, turmeric powder and coriander powder and cook for 3-4 minutes.

-Now add garam masala powder and cook for 3-4 minutes on medium flame.

-Paneer bhurji is ready to serve with chapati or paratha

Tip: You can garnish with green coriander leaves, it will make you bhurji more beautiful and delicious.
