Stop Hair loss with healthy diet

Tired of sweeping countless strands of hair on floor?. Then you should do something to control your hair fall. A normal human losses about 70-100 strands daily and those are replaced by new strands.

But in case of severe hair fall quantity of hair fall increases with or without a reduced rate of newer hair growth. Hair loss is a problem in both men and women, but more visible in men. Almost 50% of men complains of thinning hair along with a receding hairline by the age of 45 or more. In case of women, hair thinning or severe hair fall start with age of 50 or post menopause.

Why do we loose hair?

The most common reason for hair loss is the male hormone testosterone, which is also found in females. Hormone change during period of pregnancy, lactation, menopause or thyroid diseases are also responsible for increase hair fall.

Inadequate intake of protein, low level of iron and zinc or deficiency of essential fatty acids(omega-3 and omega-6) result in increase in hair loss.

Dealing with hair loss

Nutrition is the key.

Intake of adequate quality protein is a must. You can opt for soya bean and soya products, pulses, lentils, milk, curd and nuts.

Iron can also obtains from other sources like green leaf vegetables, dates, eggs etc.

Nuts and seeds are good source of magnesium and zinc.

Fish, flaxseeds, flaxseed oil, walnut, mustard seeds and soya bean also good source of essential fatty acids that promotes hair nutrition.

The health of your hair depends on the circulation to the scalp and the nutrients in your blood. Regular exercise will stimulate circulation.

Coriander juice with mint and curry leaf juice helps provide beneficial nutrients.

Silica and biotin are other nutrients that are proven to be good for hair. Biotin helps improve the metabolism of scalp surface. It is present in food like eggs, goat lever, yeast, whole grain cereals etc.

Topical application of almond oil, castor oil or olive oil on scalp is beneficial for hair.
