When babies have stuffy nose they feel very uncomfortable as breathing becomes difficult. Also most of the decongestant available in market are not safe to use on young kids. All nasal saline drops in market are costly and they are not value for money.
It is best to use saline nasal solution made at home to loosen mucus from nose and then wiping it with soft cloth.
Ingredients of saline solution
- 1 cup of water
- ¼ tsp salt
- Pinch of baking soda
Making saline nasal solution
- Take 1 cup tap water in vessel and bring to a boil on the stove over high flame to make sure it has no contamination.
- Add 1/4 tsp salt and a pinch of baking soda to the water and stir until they are dissolved.
- Cool saline solution and store in clean container and use it within 24 hrs.
Direction to use Nasal saline
Use 1-2 drops of this nose saline solution with dropper in each nostril and wait for 1~2 minutes and clean with soft clean cotton or tissue paper.
